Honour Roll Criteria

CALCULATION OF DIVISION III AND IV HONOUR ROLL AWARDS

 

For purposes of determining honour roll/distinction status:

Honour Roll - 80.00-89.99%    Distinction - 90.00-100%

Division III

The following classes will be used to determine academic achievement:

ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies and all electives. ELA and Math marks will be counted twice in determining averages due to their frequency in the timetable.

Division IV

Grade 10

Grade 11

Grade 12

ELA  10

ELA 20

ELA A30

FIN LIT 10

 

ELA B30

Social Science 10

 

History 30

Science 10

Three 20/30 level Maths/Sciences

Three 30 level Maths/Sciences

MWA 10 or MFP 10

(6 classes)

(5 classes – these classes must be taken in the Grade 11 year)

(7 classes – these classes must be taken in the Grade 12 year)

 

* Courses completed in each grade are counted solely for that academic year. Only in-house courses will be included in honour roll calculations.

An “Honour Roll” will not be determined each reporting period (only at the end of the year) - students are not taking equivalent classes nor will they likely be taking all classes included in the honour roll calculations each semester therefore common averages cannot be calculated.
